Viva Pictures has let the critters out of the cage in a new teaser trailer for the upcoming animated feature Night of the Zoopocalypse, in theaters across North America on March 7, 2025. Inspired by a story concept from horror master Clive Barker, the CG-animated movie centers on the animals in a zoo that is being overrun by a mysterious mutating force.
Synopsis: After a meteor unleashes a virus that turns zoo animals into zombies, a mountain lion (David Harbour) and wolf (Gabbi Kosmidis) lead a team of surviving animals to stop the virus and rescue their zoo.
The English-language voice cast also features Pierre Simpson as Xavier the movie-obsessed lemur, Heather Loreto as Frida the feisty capybara, Scott Thompson as Ash the sarcastic ostrich, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Felix the treacherous monkey and Bryn McCauley as the mutants’ deranged leader, “Bunny Zero.”
Night of the Zoopocalypse is directed by animation veterans Ricardo Curtis (The Angry Birds Movie, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant) and Rodrigo Perez-Castro (Ferdinand, Ice Age: Collision Course, The Book of Life), who are also co-founder and head of creative for pre-production studio House of Cool (The Peanuts Movie, Despicable Me and Ice Age franchises). It is written by Steven Hoban and James Kee, and produced by Hoban and Mark Smith.
The film is produced by Copperheart Entertainment and co-produced by Charades Productions, U Media and IDL Films, in association with House of Cool.
